Cancellation + Transfer Policies

We know enrolling in a training is a meaningful and big commitment. We also understand that life can change, sometimes suddenly. These policies exist to keep expectations clear and to support fairness, sustainability, and care for everyone involved – our students, our team, and our retreat venues.

Cancellation Policy

  • Deposits: Our $300 Deposits are always non-refundable. $300 deposits are transferable if you’d like to switch to a different course and as long as you notify The Somatic Yoga Institute within 5 months or more of the training start date.
  • Refund eligibility: Cancellations submitted 5 months or more before the training start date may be eligible for a refund, minus the deposit and any non-refundable processing fees.
  • No refunds within 150 days: We do not offer refunds for cancellations submitted less than 5 months before the start date
  • Sold-out Trainings: Once a training is sold out, it is non-refundable. You will receive correspondence when/if a training you are registered for becomes sold out.
  • Leaving early or non-attendance: No refunds will be offered if you choose not to attend, do not complete the training, or leave the course early for any reason.

Program changes or cancellation

The Somatic Yoga Institute reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, relocate, or adjust a program if needed. If a natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstance requires the training to be moved or altered, we will make every reasonable effort to provide an appropriate alternative or substitution. Please note that refunds are not provided if you choose not to attend an altered or relocated program.

  • Processing fees: Refunds do not include any processing fees charged by your credit card provider or payment platform.
  • Travel insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in case of illness, travel disruptions, flight changes, or unexpected events that impact your ability to attend.
  • Online trainings: Online trainings are non-refundable once you enroll, due to the nature of digital course access and downloadable materials.

Change Policy (Transfers)

We understand that sometimes your timing shifts, your circumstances change, or your system simply needs a different pace. If you can’t attend, your deposit remains non-refundable, but it can be transferred.

Transfer fees

  • More than 90 days before start date: $250
  • 60–90 days before start date: $350
  • 30–60 days before start date: $450
  • Less than 30 days before start date: $550
  • Transfer availability: Transfers are subject to availability in future programs.

Rooming Policy

We will reserve the room you request at the time of enrollment, based on availability and first-come, first-served allocations.

Once the training begins, any changes to rooming must be handled directly with the retreat venue. Room changes are not guaranteed, and any rooming-related refunds or adjustments are managed through the venue (not The Somatic Yoga Institute).

Payments + Payment Plans

  • Personal payment plans: We offer personal payment plans that can be customized to meet your financial needs. All payments must be complete before the training begins.
  • Accepted payment methods: We accept credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, express pay options, and bank transfers.
  • Bank transfer: Pay by bank transfer to avoid credit card fees. For US/Canada transfers, use the “bank account” option on your payment link. For international transfers, contact us for details.
  • Late payments: Payment must be completed in full in order to participate and receive your certificate. If something unexpected comes up, we encourage you to contact us right away – communication goes a long way, and we’ll do our best to work with you when possible.

Scholarship Exchanges

We offer scholarship exchanges to support accessibility and widen participation in our trainings. Scholarships cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.

  • Referral Program: Refer a friend who enrolls and pays in full for a Yoga Teacher Training program and you’ll receive $150 per successful referral. There is no limit to how many referrals you can make.
  • Privacy Policy: We value your privacy and will never sell or share your personal information from contact forms, enrollment forms, or social media.
